What about connotation?

The reading gives feel that Navy take care about man when enter the army-navy. The position of the man is same as on horse. It makes feel that to be in Navy is same as riding horse. The torpedo can be as a symbol of power, safeness, dauntlessness and impassibility. The intention here is to not scare new recruit what the war really is. There is no information the war is bad. It looks everything is right and maybe it is really easy duty be in group which protect the country against enemy.

Different image to analyse: I was thinking a little bit long and this image pop up in my mind. I found it when through advertisement research.

Throat-Scratch was Pall-Mall campaign (1949 till 1954) to send a message that Pall-Mall brand is better than others. Here is more information: Pall-Mall's Throat-Scratch

The cigarettes advertisement is not allowed in these days and really I did not see it around me. Than it is really strange to see Pall-Mall's advertisement after 60 years especially when we know the smoke is not healthy.

The picture says that Pall-Mall is better to smoke, it has longer filter which makes the smoke better for your lungs, of-coarse it is "Guard Against Throat-Scratch" etc. We see topless woman and others people on beach, relaxing, smoking, offering cigarettes to others, the red colour is shouting - I am waiting for you.

I am really shocked to see it now, really, because there is one point, addiction and health. This advertisement says that smoking is not dangerous for us, the people on the beach are like dealers of Pall-Mall company - "enjoy the smooth smoking of fine tobacco". Just to sell more without any responsibility, just more profits.

What is true? What is allowed to be presented? We know that it is lie, there is no MILD smoke. How we can see the true when lie is hidden. The facts are manipulated? What we need to know to find the true? There must be balance, in that case the tests revealed the PallMall Mild tobacco is worse than ordinary cigarettes.

In these days there are many advertisement around quality of food, really I do not know what is healthy or what is not. Should I buy the meal in supermarket, the meal from mass production? There are many clips how the people deal with animals. Is really the meal in my supermarket stressed or the animal was killed gently? I DO NOT KNOW, SOMEBODY TELL ME.
